Medium density fibreboard (MDF) is a board with the bond between the fibre coming from added adhesive.The board density is somewhat less than hardboard.MDF is mostly used for non-structural applications, but flooring grades are sometimes available, and MDF interior wall and ceiling linings provide excellent bracing. MDF does not contain knots or rings, making it more uniform than natural woods during cutting and in service.
